1942/01/13 -  The ‘Aorangi’ arrived Singapore and after unloading the troops sailed for Australia. The 6th H.A.A. Regiment took defence of Singapore City on the South Coast of the island.

1942/02/01 -  As the Japanese campaign developed, the Supreme Commander of the American-British-Dutch-Australian Command (ABDA), General Wavell, sent some of the A.A. reinforcements from Singapore on to the Dutch East Indies. RHQ, 12 and 15 H.A.A. Btys of 6th H.A.A. Regiment went to Sumatra.
