To honour those who served their country

“In this their finest hour”

Jakarta (Menteng Poeloe) Netherlands Field of Honour

The Netherlands Field of Honour is in the suburb of Menteng Poeloe, 11 kilometres from the city centre, and is adjacent to Djakarta (now spelt Jakarta) War Cemetery, Jakarta Selatam (South Jakarta). It can be reached by two main roads - Jalan Dr Saharto and Jalan Casablanca, and is situated in front of the Chinese Cemetery (Kubuvan Cina). There is access between the War Cemetery and the Netherlands Field of Honour although the cemetery is normally padlocked outside of normal working hours.

There is 1 soldier of the 1939-1945 war commemorated here, who served in the Commonwealth Forces, but was of Netherlands nationality. The Urn containing his ashes was deposited in the Columbarium in the Netherlands Field of Honour which adjoins Jakarta War Cemetery.
