Posted to 29/3 heavy ack-ack unit

Transported through the Suez Canel to Singapore

Arrived in Singapore and 

1942/02/15 - Captured Singapore

1942/04/04 - Transported over sea with 1100 PoW’s in the Nissyo Maru to Saigon, French Indo China (Vietnam) under Lt-Col F. E. Hugonin

Tarsao Hospital (125km from Nong Pladuc)

1944/4 - Tha Muang (39km from Nong Pladuc) this was the base camp at the end of the railway construction (Camp Commander Col. A.E Knights, 4th Royal Norfolks)(Awarded an OBE post war). The PoWs who remained here were to service and repair the railway

1945/09 - Kanchanaburi Hospital (50km from Nong Pladuc)

Liberated 1945/09/09


Post War

Discharged from Army. Married Sheila  in Scotland. Lived Edinburgh and worked at the GPO. Then emigrated to Australia.
