2/3 Reserve  Motor Transport Company was raised from Queenslanders and New South Welshmen at Liverpool in early 1941 under command of Lt-Col. C.M. Black, with a strength of over 400.

1941/04/10 - Embarked HMT Orcades at Sydney for Singapore.

1941/04/24 - Arrived Singapore.

The 2/3 Res M/T Coy. was initially based in Johore State, where it trained and  gained equipment and vehicles.

1941/07/29 - Embarked Singapore, oversea to Java.

1942/03/08 - Java surrendered to the Japanese

 

1942/09/23 - Casualty List Q210. Reported Missing.

1943/09/10 - Casualty List WC12, Now reported a Prisoner of War in Burma..

1942/10/14 - Transported oversea in the Maebashi Maru to Burma with Black Force under Lt-Col C. M. Black.

1943/10/25 - Thailand Burma rail lines joined near Konkoita, Thailand

1944 - Allan moved to Thailand where he was liberated at Tha Muang.
