In the battle for Hong Kong

7 am. - The Royal Rifles are back in possession of Stanley Mound

10.10 -  Japanese succeed in driving the Royal Riffles from Stanley Mound, eighteen officers killed, wounded or missing, and only 350 men left, they are ordered to withdraw.

Oliver was buried on Stone Hill, near Stanley Mound.
