Major John Bluet Denman was an officer in the Royal Engineers, a British Army Corps with a long history of engineering and combat support.

John was in the retreat at Dunkirk between 26th May and 4th June 1940.

1955 - Married June Lawson in Westminster, London

They were blessed with daughter Joanna Denman.

In 1962 John married Clare Justice Troutbeck.

Clare had three children from her first marriage, Christopher, John (Georgina’s father) and Jane Barclay.
