Service

February 1944, the First Battalion Wiltshire Regiment, were in second line of defence in Burma. The regiment were ordered into action when 5th and 7th Indian Divisions were surrounded by Japanese troops.

They were sent over the Ghopy pass to relieve 7th Indian Division who were surrounded and being attacked, the Indian division were being cut to pieces by the Japanese.

Arthur was killed in this action.
