1939/06/01 - The 122 Field Regiment was formed in Bradford as a Territorial unit

1941/01/03 - Departed Glasgow in Empress of Japan.

1941/03/03 - Arrived Singapore.

Now part of 12th Indian Brigade.

1941/12/08 - Japan invades Malaya from  landings on the Malayan border with Thailand.

The 278 Battery of the 122 Field Regiment were transported to North Malaya and the 280 Battery took positions in Southern Area, Singapore.

 

1942/02/15 - Singapore surrenders to Japanese

 

1942/03/26 - WO 417/40, Casualty List No. 780. Reported ‘Missing’.

1943/10/02 - WO 417/66, Casualty List No. 1254. Previously reported Missing on Casualty List No. 780, 15/02/1942. Now reported ‘Prisoner of War’.

1942/09/ - Hospital record showing Frank being admitted Ban Pong with Inguinal Hernia.

Then to Chungkai and then various camps up to Tha Khanun, Nam Chon Yai area.

 1943/09/ - Sick, taken down river to Chungkai Hospital.

1943/10/15 -  Admitted Chungkai Hospital where he died of Malaria and Avitaminosis (disease caused by the chronic or long-term deficiency of one or more vitamins).

(Hospital Records have him dying 1943/10/14).
