1942/10/01 -  Lisbon Maru was Torpedoed by USS Grouper, 6 miles from Tung Fusham Island, off the China coast, 29°57'N, 122°56'N.

Harry survived by swimming to an island, was picked up and landed at Woosung not far from Shanghai. Encircled by machine-gun crews the survivors dared not talk to one another at the risk of getting a beating.

Transported in Shinsei Maru to Japan

Taken to Osaka No. 1 Camp

Liberated at Osaka 9B Notogawa-Machi, Japan

Age 26
