1941/11/10 - Sailed in Convoy William Sail 12X from Halifax to South Africa

1941/12/08 - Japan attacked Malaya

1941/12/30 - Mount Vernon left Kenya for Singapore in the DM1 Convoy.

1942/01/13 - Arrived Singapore and marched to Woodlands Camp near Naval Base

1942/01/16 - 5th Norfolk Regiment were attached to 11th Indian Division and transported to the Ayer Hitam area in Malaya

1942/01/25 - Retreat to Singapore

1942/02/15 - Captured

BOWEN Peacefully in Hospital on Tuesday 19th May 2015 surrounded by his family. Arthur Nelson aged 94 years much loved husband of the late Kathleen Bowen, a much loved father of Michael, Susan, Christine and the late Geoffrey and a beloved grandfather and great grandfather. The funeral Service took place at Lancaster Priory on Wednesday 10th June at 11.30am followed by committal at Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium at 12.30pm.
