Miyo Maru badly damaged in Typhoon but reached Taiwan.

1944/06/18:-

At Takao, Taiwan PoWs transferred to Tamahoko Maru. As it was a cargo ship the holds held copper ore.

1944/06/24:-

Attacked by USS Tang. Two torpedoes hit the Tamahoko Maru and there was a large explosion, within two minutes the ship sunk to the bottom.

Notes:-

Alias: Tomohoku Maru, Yone Maru. Tamahoko Maru was torpedoed 1944/06/24 by USS Tang. Carrying 772 prisoners, 560 died.
