Survived the sinking of the Hofuku Maru by planes from American Aircraft Carrier, 80 miles north of Corregidor.
Given as 'Died' but he swam ashore and survived. He joined and led a guerrilla group in the Philippines from where he was recovered in 1945. (Information Tim Lloyd).
