While Escaping Singapore on the HMS Giang Bee

The HMS Giang Bee was a small armed coaster which sailed from Singapore with 300 civilians on board at 10pm on the 12th February 1942.  After she left Singapore harbour in the evacuation she was soon overtaken by a squadron of Japanese warships.  Passengers were given an hour to abandon ship before the vessel was bombarded and sunk.
