On 17th Oct 42, 63 OR's, left Bukit Timah under command of Lt Kimsey for a mainland destination in a party commanded by Lt Col Baker (5th Suffolk's).


Railway Camps - Chungkai - Wang Takhian - Ban Khoa - Wang Pho North - Lower Tha khanun (203 Kilo camp)

White was attached to 5 platoon  and worked through Group 2 work areas of Chungkai,  Wang Takhian, Ban Khoa, Wang Pho and Lower Tha Khanun.

Cause of Death - Dysentery

At Lower Tha khanun 203 Kilo Camp

Walter’s death is recorded in Corporal Allen's diary;-

 26th June 1943, "White of 5 platoon died this morning, we were on the big bridge" He was admitted to hospital on the 15th of June and died on the 26th of June from Dysentery. Buried at Lower Tha Khanun (Capt. Revered  G.E. McNeill) Chaplin to the forces.
