Enlisted 15th January, 1940

Left Britain aboard S S Orcades in October 1941

Arrived Singapore 28th January 1942

Singapore surrendered 15th February 1942

 

Japanese POW

Imprisoned in Changi

Left on 1st November 1942 for Thailand to help build the Railway from Nong Pladuc to Thanbyuzayat (Burma).

Arrived Tarsau (Nam Tok) on 11th November 1942.

Worked on the Wampo (Whang Po) Viaduct.

Other camps Stanley worked from were:

 Kanyu, Hintock, Kinsayok, Rin Tin, Takunun, Nikki, Songkrai and Three Pagoda Pass.

Stan was a member of the Manam Kwai Noi Rover Scout Crew.

Arrived back in Liverpool on 16th October 1945.

 

Died

Stan passed away on 19th January, 2004.
