Being transported on the Rakuyo Maru which left Singapore for Japan on the 6th September 1944 carrying 1318 prisoners, 600 British and 718 Australians.

 

Died

Age: 28

12th September 1944

When the Rakuyo Maru was torpedoed and sunk by US submarine Sealion off East Hainan island, Lat 18.0 N Lon 114.0E., at around 5:00am.

1159 prisoners were lost.
