1914 - Enlisted as a boy soldier aged 15 and 122 days.

Served in the RHA during WW1

1920s - Stationed in Egypt

1927 - Married in Cairo whilst serving in K Battery RHA.

 

1938 - Re-enlisted as Lt. (QM)

Weight loss during his incarceration, he was 12st 10lb when he entered Changi in 1942. He went down to 7st 10lb while a Japanese PoW.

1945/09/02 - Liberated Singapore

Transported to Australia initially, suffering from Stomach Cancer, sent to Chester Military Hospital.
