Japanese POW number - 1858.

Captured in Java and then sent to Kutching where he joined ‘E’ Force.

 

Died

Age: 23

29th May 1945

George died on the Sandakan Marches at Sandakan Number 1 Camp and was buried at Compound 1. The Japanese gave his death as Malaria.

Son of Mrs. Myrtle Morriss, of Frankston, Victoria, Australia.
