Bilibid was a former Civilian prison which was converted to a POW camp, hospital and transit camp for POWS. Almost every man captured on Corregidor passed through this camp. It was used as a transit point for movement to other camps in the Philippines or on the hell ships to Japan, most of the Americans from Bataan went through this camp.

1942 27th May the first transport of Corregidor POWS departed for Cabanatuan.

1942 3rd June high ranking officers left for Tarlac.

1943 2nd October 150 doctors, medics and patients transferred to Cabanatuan.
