Being transported to Japan from Singapore on the Rakuyo Maru

Torpedoed and sunk on 12/09/1944 by US submarine Sealion off East Hainan island at around 5:00am. 1159 were lost. Rescued by USS Barb SS220 from water. Author of book 'Bamboo and Bushido'. Died of Cancer.
