The Lisbon Maru left Hong Kong, 1942/09/27 for Shanghai with 1816 prisoners on board. Attacked and sunk by USS Grouper (American submarine). Sidneys son David died in 1951 when a bus hit cadets on their way to a dockland boxing match at Chatham.
