Survived the sinking of the Hofuku Maru by planes from American Aircraft Carrier, 80 miles north of Corregidor.
Following the sinking of the Hofuku Maru, Stanley was recaptured and taken to Cabanatuan a camp mainly for US prisoners. remained there until a raid by the US to rescue their prisoners on 30 January 1945.
